Frequently Asked Questions

Will these spring bars fit my Garmin Instinct Solar or Tactical Edition?

Yes. They’re sized for the 22mm lugs shared by every first-generation Garmin Instinct: Standard, Tactical and Esports, plus the Instinct Solar in Standard, Tactical, Camo and Surf. This kit is for the original Instinct only, as the Instinct 2, 2S, 2X and 3 have their own listings. Check the back of your watch if you’re unsure which model you have.

Will these spring bars work with my quick change Instinct band?

Yes. The bars fit into the Instinct’s lugs, and both standard spring bar bands and quick change bands attach to them. Quick change bands simply latch onto the fitted bars, so one kit covers whichever style you wear. Browse our Garmin Instinct band range for bands to pair with them.

How do I fit new spring bars with the included tool?

Compress, align, release. Use the forked end of the tool to push in the bar’s sprung tip, line it up with the hole in one lug, and seat the other end in the opposite lug. Release the tip so it clicks into place, then give it a gentle tug to check it’s secure. Repeat for the second bar.

What are the spring bars made of, and how thick are they?

They’re stainless steel, 22mm long and 2.3mm thick, which gives a sturdy fit in the Instinct’s lugs for everyday and outdoor wear. Each kit includes two bars, enough for one full band change, along with the tools you need to fit them.

How do I know when my Instinct’s spring bars need replacing?

Replace them if the band feels loose, rattles in the lugs, or a bar looks bent. A bar that no longer springs back firmly can let the band slip free, so it’s worth swapping them before that happens. Fresh bars also help when you’re fitting a new band, giving it a firm, secure hold from day one.
